First Blog Post
Hello World,
This is my first blog post and in this post I wanted to introduce myself and talk about what I do so here it goes.
I am a Certified Canine Trainer and Behavior Specialist. I have been training dog since 2008 and love every minute of it. I own my own business called Consistent Canine Training and what I do is in-home dog training. People call me when they are having issues with their beloved pup and I help them fix the issues. The issues can be as simple as potty training or just needing obedience training to the dog snapping at other people or lunging at dogs. A lot of people ask me if I only train certain types of dogs and I train them all. I've worked with little dogs like Maltese and Bichions to Dobermans, Labs, Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers and Pit Bulls. I love all dogs and don't discriminate against any of them.
With my in-home lessons, I offer and evaluation where we talk about what you want to accomplish with your dog. After the evaluation, there are 6 lesson that meet once a week for an hour. Since the lessons are in-home, there isn't a lot of distraction or socialization. To solve that, I take clients to pet stores or parks for the last one or two lessons. When we go to the park or pet store, dogs will act different then they do at home. This lets the client see what else they need to work on to make their dog act awesome in different settings.
The other aspect of my life is running. I've been running since college in 2002 and have been addicted ever since. I have done one marathon and a lot of half marathons. I prefer the half marathons because they are a lot more fun and the training isn't as time consuming. I have two kids under the age of 3 so my time is limited when I run. I usually try to run early in the morning before anyone else gets up so I have the rest of the day to spend with my kids and doing dog training work.
For the most part I'll be talking about dogs on this blog but every once in a while I might add a post about running. If anyone has questions about either dogs or running, I'll do my best to answer them.
